How do I use the Search page?
Our search tool’s your camping compass—filter by region (Coastal, Desert, Mountain), county, cost, or type (Tents, RVs, Glamping). Add activities like hiking or surfing, and watch the map light up with your next adventure!
- Start Simple: Type a campground name in the search bar—or skip it to browse everything.
- Narrow It Down: Pick a region (Mountain, Desert, Coastal), county, or cost range from the dropdowns.
- Get Specific: Check boxes for camping types (Tent, RV, Glamping, etc.) and activities (Hiking, Fishing, Stargazing—you name it!).
- Explore: Watch the map and results update live—click “Map” or “Website” links to plan your trip!
Pro tip: Try “Tent” + “Hiking” in the Mountains for a classic adventure. Happy camping!
What camping types are listed?
From beachside tents to dispersed desert sites, we’ve got it all—Tents, RVs, Glamping, Backcountry, and more. Pick your style and hit the wild!
- Tents: Campin in a tent wether hiking and carrying your gear into a campground or diving right up to your campsite and take your gear out of you veicle and set up..
- Group: Name says it all. Large groups like families and friends getting into the outdoors.
- Glamping: Glamping, short for "glamorous camping," is a style of camping that combines the experience of being in nature with luxurious amenities and comforts.
- Cabins: Not normally called camping but my wife sayes it is the type of camping she prferes so we added in in to our camping guide
- Back Country: THis is usually for more experienced hikers as it is ussually at a minumum a day to hike in and you have to carry all your gear aincluding food and water.
- RV: Camping with luxury being able to have all your gear in a large moving Camper.
- Dispered/Boondocking/Primitive: Kind of lumped these together. Dispered and Boondocking are interchanglable in a way they are usually primitive with limited amenties but you can drive to them with some that an RV can drive to while primitive you more than likely not able to drive to.
